You're not alone...

I ended up with a greasemonkey extension for that very form and I was almost selling to my colleagues. But since I upgraded to Safari 5 (from 4) I can't get anymore through the form submission... any Ideea on debugging https requests?

I made a script to change brightness from console:
#!/bin/bash

echo "Input brightness level (0-99)"
read i
    sudo setpci -s 00:02.0 F4.B=$i
exit 1

I have no objection at all to you using the name Manx. (I'm not sure where the capital "M" disappeared to, but if that's your preference, I don't mind!)

<a href="http://manx.codeplex.com" rel="nofollow">manx is reborn</a>. We've started an open source project on codeplex to recreate the original manx so that Paul can take his offline anytime he feels like it without worry. We would like to extend manx so that data can be contributed by anyone within a community of peers (we know who we are :-). Please feel free to join us on codeplex to discuss the new manx.

<a href="http://manx.codeplex.com" rel="nofollow">manx is reborn</a>. Well, almost anyway. We've started an open source project hosted on codeplex to recreate the original manx functionality using the database dumps so graciously provided here. We'd love contributors from the manx user community. First we will reproduce the existing functionality so that Paul can take the old manx offline anytime he feels like it. Then we'd like to continue the development to allow the community to contribute directly to the data hosted in manx. Assuming Paul doesn't object, we'd like to continue the brand.

Well, thank you anyway...I also forgot to say that I don't use Fedora, but Ubuntu...anyway, on Ubuntu 9.10 (kernel manually updated to 2.6.32-11) it doesn't work, also if I try to change the brightness from the power management...so I don't think it's a keyboard problem...I hope this bug will be fixed as soon as possible because it is really very annoying...especially for the battery life...if I want to change brightness I have to enter winzozz, change it, reboot and enter linux -.-

Ah, I see that the latest Fedora 12 kernel is 2.6.31.12, which means that I won't be trying this yet. I'm not willing to run Rawhide on my laptop :-)

Assuming that 2.6.32 has the fix, you'll also need the Fedora bug to be fixed so that the keys are attached to the correct functions, or correct the HAL file as described in <a href="https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=504009" rel="nofollow">bug 504009</a>.

As I've now upgraded my desktop to Fedora 12 successfully, I'll be updating the X120 shortly (maybe the weekend, if I'm lucky). At that point I'll revisit the HAL patch and report back. If I forget, please ping me!

Hi! I have a samsung x120 too, and I have problems with keyboard, but above all with the impossiblity to turn the brightness up and down and to turn off the wireless...
I have also updated the kernel to the latest version (2.6.32-11), but nothing changed...

Could you explain me how did you manage to get it work please?

Thank you!
